Since graduating in Fine Art from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013, Fletcher Orr has exhibited internationally and set up his own exhibition space, the Cactus Gallery in Liverpool. Recent shows include FACT, Liverpool, Furini Arte Contemporanea in Arezzo, Italy and Syson Gallery, Nottingham. This month, he returns to International 3 for his second solo show, Mummy’s Boy. Taking inspiration from his parents, Orr’s mother acts as his muse and works on show include a photograph of a bowl of fruit, carefully arranged by Orr’s mother (pictured), and gallery walls painted in his mother’s colours of choice. The result is a show which pushes boundaries and makes his audience question the differences between artists and non artist’s every day choices. For those wanting to know more, Joe Fletcher Orr and Adam Carr (Curator at Mostyn I Wales) are in conversation at The International 3 on Thursday 21 April (6pm, FREE).
