Arty types should head over to Common Bar in the Northern Quarter next Wednesday for Colouring Club. Despite the name, this isn’t for fans of those “grown up” colouring books that are inexplicably popular these days, it’s a free meetup for people who want to create something artistic of their own. Attendees can paint, sketch or make a collage – whatever takes their fancy. It’s aimed at everyone, from professionals to those with no formal background in the arts. You can work on your own, or get help and inspiration from others. Materials will even be provided, but you can, of course, bring your own artistic accoutrements. The knocking back of boozy beverage is advisable, unless you think it going to impact your draftsmanship. This is the first Colouring Club at Common, but the organisers plan to hold an event there on the last Wednesday of every month.
