Often when something seems too good to be true, it usually is. But for the past two years local legends and P.E. kit bedecked sketch group Gein’s Family Giftshop have been filling the comedy clubs of London with some of the best comedians in the country, if not the world, for the ludicrously and somewhat suspect price of only a fiver. Alongside fellow sketchers Goose and helmed by silent Gein’s member but very vocal MC Kiri Pritchard-McLean they have been graced with the presence of the likes of Daniel Kitson, Sara Pascoe, The Pajama Men and James Acaster. Now they’re bringing their dubious night to the North and more specifically Salford for an alumni special. Since the Foster’s Edinburgh nominated Gein’s met in the hallowed halls of Salford University’s Adelphi building they are holding a reunion of sorts and inviting some of their fellow Salford graduates to the Adelphi stage. The globetrotting Beyonce fan and sometimes voice of a generation Luisa Omelian, no frills charmer Alun Cochrane and masterful character comic Adam Riches will be making up a bill that is worth quadruple the fiver they are asking for entry. Lose your suspicions and snap up tickets as quick as possible.
