Acclaimed modern folk artist, John Smith headlines The Dancehouse as part of a European tour ahead of the release of new album, Headlong. While Smith’s honest vocals and melodies bring to mind the songwriting of Damian Rice and Bon Iver, he remains very much a part of the British progressive folk tradition which emerged in the late 1960s and 1970s. Headlong marks his first recorded output for four years, since 2013’s Great Lakes, and the tour continues an impressive live CV that has seen him playing icons of the genre such as John Martyn.
