Manchester-based promoters Grey Lantern have developed an impressive roster, featuring acts such as Post War Glamour Girls, The Holydrug Couple, and regularly curate a stage at Sounds From The Other City. This month, they return with Disappears, a band responsible for producing one of Grey Lantern’s favourite albums of 2015. Playing their first Manchester show in four years, the Chicago band are performing in support of their fifth LP, Irreal, one of the group’s most experimental and eerie musical outputs yet. Sitting somewhere between post punk and art rock, their sound is encapsulated by an overarching feeling of trepidation; but one that listeners find difficulty in straying away from.
