Over 20 years into his career, Duke Garwood is finally getting the recognition he deserves. During this time, he’s recorded with The Orb and Archie Bronson Outfit, and more recently, contributed to Mark Lanegan and Savages albums. The London-based multi-instrumentalist has also released records under his own name, including this year’s Heavy Love – his first on Heavenly Recordings, also home to Lanegan, Cherry Ghost and Stealing Sheep. With Q Magazine describing his jazz-tinted blues as ‘making Will Oldham sound like Engelbert Humperdinck’, long may Garwood’s music blossom.
