Tickets are now on sale for Gung-Ho!, a fun run with a difference, which is taking place in April at Heaton Park. It’s a 5k run, but the course will be peppered with giant inflatable obstacles. Entrants will have to contend with a climbing wall, a ball pit, stairs, and a jungle gym. You’ll even have to find your way through a foam-filled labyrinth. The finale is a five-storey-high inflatable slide – one of the biggest in the world. The whole thing is strictly for laughs, so entrants can run, walk, or stagger at their own pace. You can enter as an individual or part of a team. Every participant will get two free spectator passes, so friends or family can egg you on and/or laugh at you. There’s no minimum age requirement, but runners have to be over four feet tall. Although the event is some time off, ticket numbers are strictly limited and they are likely to sell out fast.

Sat 30 Apr, Heaton Park, Middleton Road, Higher Blackley, Manchester, M25 2SW, 9am – 2.00pm (various start times), £30 (early bird), begung-ho.co.uk
