Very little is known about Jungle other than they have signed to taste-making Sony off-shoot, Chess Club (Swim Deep, Post War Years). In fact no one really knows what they look like (ie they are not the guys on the Now Wave flyer), yet their videos and songs are extremely earwormy. Funky upbeat, danceable; imagine a melting pot of funked-up Kindness with Hot Chip. Groove on ice. The Guardian’s Paul Lester describes their four tracks available to date (Platoon, The Heat, Drop and Lucky I Got What I Want) as “somehow texturally rich yet austere, with an atmosphere and a voice that suggest authority and gravitas despite the context of music designed essentially to make you have fun and dance”.
