The National Football Museum will host the second Manchester Football Writing Festival this September. With last year’s inaugural event selling over 1,500 tickets, the collaboration between the museum and Waterstones will feature a diverse range of events between 1 and 10 September. Highlights include the festival’s opening event, The Blizzard: Live! (Tue 1 Sep, 7pm, National Football Museum, £12) – a panel discussion between the quarterly publication’s feature editor Jonathan Wilson plus The Football Ramble’s Marcus Speller and contributors including David Conn – plus Football Weekly Live! (Thu 3 Sep, 6pm, Manchester Cathedral, £15) – an opportunity to hear the popular Guardian podcast’s host James Richardson in conversation with Barry Glendenning, James Horncastle and Paul MacInnes. With other events focusing on the Bundesliga, the recent Fifa corruption scandal, sports journalism and the world of scouting – plus the Manchester derby – the festival offers a unique programme to fans of football writing.
