Ménage à Trois, the slyly named art pop trio, are playing a very special gig this Saturday in the Northern Quarter. The venue is AATMA, an events space tucked away off Stevenson Square formerly known as Kraak. These local lads met in a karaoke bar in the Gay Village, and have gone on to tour the world, playing their own brand of upbeat pop anthems. They have already released two EPs, but this concert is a launch party for their first Long Player, ‘Australia III (Love is Stronger Than Pride)’. When the Guardian named them ‘New Band of the Week’ recently, they were likened to a blend of Take That and The Durutti Column. And listeners were advised to file the new record next to Wham!. If that intrigues, then you can check the album out for yourself, here. After the gig, Annabel Fraser of NTS Radio will be DJ’ing into the wee small hours.

Sat 29 Apr, AATMA, 1st Floor, 14-16, Faraday Street, off Stevenson Place, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M1 1BE, 11.00pm – 4.00am, £5, aatma.zone
