JD Twitch and JG Wilkes, aka Optimo, have announced a show in March at Salford’s no-frills, optimum-debauchery venue Islington Mill. Twitch was the co-promoter of  Edinburgh’s infamous Pure Club during the 1990s, a legendary night alluded to in Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting, and Wilkes cut his teeth in the late 1980s spinning reggae, funk and jazz. Their 13-year-long residency at one of the country’s finest clubs, Sub Club, was a display of their musical experimentation, calling on electro, techno, post-punk, pop and leftfield selections, and helped define the musical landscape of Glasgow and beyond. Optimo nights carry the guarantee of sonic surprises and delights, with an unstoppable desire to throw your body in time with the vibrations all night long. Do you think you can handle six hours of it?
