The People’s History Museum is hosting ‘Survivors’ Stories’, a rare opportunity to hear first-hand experiences of the devastating effects of nuclear war. At the beginning of April, the Museum presents a talk by Hibakusha – survivors of the atomic bombings of Japan. Presenting is Reiko Yamada, who was raised in Hiroshima and was only 1.5 miles away from ground zero when the bomb was dropped. Now in her 80s, she travels the world telling of her experience of that fateful day and the time that followed. On the night, she is accompanied by Midori Yamada, a second generation Hibakusha at this event that’s been organised by the Greater Manchester chapter of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. The talk is free, but booking is required. Please use the link, below. There were originally two nights advertised, but the first is already fully subscribed.
