A criminally cool double-bill of film and music comes to The White Hotel on August Bank Holiday. Enjoy the first British screening of the newly-restored crime film The Boys, described as a “contaminated episode of Neighbours”. The Boys is the first feature from director Rowan Woods, and it scooped several gongs at the Australian Academy Awards on its release in 1998. Once the credits have rolled, experimental Sydney jazz trio The Necks will entertain – they provided the original music score for the film. The New York Times hailed them as “one of the greatest bands in the world”. Other music comes from Salo and from Xam Duo, a band comprising members of Hookworms and Deadwall.
