This year’s Great Manchester Cycle takes place on Sunday 28 June. The event caters to all different cycling abilities, with three distance options to choose from: 13, 26 and 52 miles. Beginning at the Etihad Campus, the course will take riders through Central Manchester and Salford on roads completely closed to other vehicles. In Old Trafford, there will be a feed station with drinks, toilets and mechanics on stand-by. Those on the longer courses will traverse the route more than once. Children can take part in the 13-mile route: 3- to 7-year-olds can ride on a tag-a-long bike or trailer/seat; 8- to 15-year-olds can ride their own bikes if they have an accompanying adult. Manchester City’s campus will be host to an event village, which will feature cycle industry professionals and charity partners, as well as entertainment and food concessions. This hugely popular event attracted over 8,000 riders last year.
