When the xx’s self-titled debut album came out in August 2009, it was difficult to miss its deeply profound effect across the globe. A trio of introverted friends who came together at a school that nurtured other left-field artists such as Hot Chip, Four Tet and Burial, The xx have cultivated a distinctly restrained, minimalist sound that draws on dub, pop and R&B; providing transcendental experiences both remotely and at electrifying live shows. Following their second album Coexist from 2012, new album I See You is to be a more open and expansive record, which was recently teased to us in two 55-second clips on Spotify ahead of its release on 13th January. Tickets go on sale Friday 25 November, and you should not miss this chance to see them perform.
