Blossoming out of a series of early recordings made in an isolated Ontario cabin, Timber Timbre have grown to be one of the most important voices in Canadian music. Signed to Arts & Crafts for their last two albums (following a series of self-released records), the band use the style and syncopation of folk music as a canvas on which they create vividly cinematic and stylishly daring sounds. 2011’s Creep On Creepin’ On earned multiple Juno nominations and a place on the Polaris Prize list. The beginning of April sees the release of the band’s latest work, Hot Dreams, featuring guest spots by friends and peers such as Romy Lightman (Tesseomancy, Austra) and Simone Schmidt (Fiver, One Hundred Dollars), as well as  string arrangements from frequent collaborator Mika Posen. The band promise that this record adds “arid western and viscous tonality to Timber Timbre’s signature haunted folk”, and promises to be their most lush, expansive effort to date.
