Alt-J have been awarded so many prizes following their rapid rise to fame a few years back that their track record is almost unmatched. As well as numerous album of the year accolades, the band won the much coveted Mercury Music Prize in 2012 and an Ivor Novello award for their debut LP An Awesome Wave – an album that included the singles Breezeblocks, Tessellate, Matilda and Fitzpleasure. The band returned late last year with their follow-up record, This Is All Yours – another critical success. Alt-J cut their teeth in Manchester playing as support for Fiction at The Castle while still called Films. Under the same name, they performed as part of Now Wave’s stage at Sounds from the Other City 2011. This will be their biggest Manchester show to date.

Support comes from The Horrors. Formed in 2005, the band became renowned for their explosive early performances around London, as well as their signature style and sound. Starting with the jittery punk of Strange House in 2007, the band evolved into producing the rich, psyche tinged textures that defined their later LPs, Primary Colours, Skying and Luminous.
