Rochdale is known for being the birthplace of such national treasures as Bill Oddie and Steve Coogan, but perhaps a less recognised fact is that it’s the old stomping ground of experimental duo Autechre. The pair formed nearly thirty years ago and have since pioneered the mind-bending sonic experience that so uniquely encapsulates techno and electro, with imposing drums that are reminiscent of the sounds of Warp labelmates Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. Their most recent LP, elseq 1-5, is a five-part four-hour journey that would be unjust to attempt to classify; but is inherent in their roots for bewildering music. The Warehouse Project invite them to Old Granada Studios for a unique experience in Manchester’s hub for creativity and innovation – do not pass on this opportunity.

Sat 26 Nov, Old Granada Studios, Quay Street, Manchester M3 3HN, 10pm – 2am, £18.98 (inc. BF), www.eventgenius.co.uk
