A new festival called Bluedot is taking over the night sky observatory and arboretum at Jodrell Bank this summer. The line up includes Everything Everything, Public Service Broadcasting, Mercury Rev, Steve Mason, Underworld, Caribou, Moon Duo and many more. Headliner is new age and ambient music pioneer, Jean-Michel Jarre, who is world famous for both his music and live shows that take in lights, lasers and fireworks. After party bookings include Erol Alkan and Richard Norris’ project, Beyond the Wizards Sleeve, Hessle Audio’s Ben UFO and DJ Yoda. There’s a large programme running alongside the music with Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage with Prof. Brian Cox and Robin Ince recorded at the festival. The idea is that this is a ‘festival of discovery’ which will include headliners from the worlds of art, sciences, literature and music and it’s being produced by the team behind Kendal Calling and Live from Jodrell Bank. Standard and luxury camping packages are available.
