Hotly tipped LA singer-songwriter Molly Burch is set to play at Manchester’s Soup Kitchen on the UK tour for her debut album, Please Be Mine. Nowadays based in Austin, Texas, her musical name has become synonymous with the new wave of shimmering folky lilters. Her smoky, measured vocals on her debut album’s title track give her an air of Lana Del Rey, but with the backing of slow-burning country-influenced guitars in the mould of compatriot Angel Olsen. These merits as channelled through Please Be Mine have persuaded the likes of UNCUT magazine to grade her highly, but her singing voice honed at the University of North Carolina are best heard live.
