It may seem an odd fit to bring lauded author, Jeanette Winterson, together with TV chef Nigella Lawson for a night at the RNCM during the Literature Festival but this would seem more than just an attempt to add some false literary heft to Lawson’s latest cookbook event. Cookery books are often not just a collection of recipes but a journey through the world of its writer and their personality as Winterson showed with her collection of short stories and recipes Christmas Days: 12 Stories and 12 Feasts while Lawson’s showcasing of food for company means the two of them will have plenty of scope for conversation about the place of food in literature and our lives. Audience members will be able to get a signed copy of Nigella Lawson’s latest book at the event.
