The Life Aquatic’s songsmith Seu Jorge will be bringing his Portuguese David Bowie covers to the stage for a specially themed show at Manchester’s Albert Hall. Brazilian native Jorge, who played sea shanty singer Pelé dos Santos in the film, gained wider recognition as a result, and is to pay tribute to Bowie in his own way on an 11-date tour of Europe and the US. The songs were endorsed by Bowie himself, who recognised the new beauty imbued in his music by crossing linguistic borders. The colourful film is a Wes Anderson cult classic, which will also be screened on the night, and star Bill Murray on typically eccentric form as its protagonist, Steve Zissou.
