Manchester Curious, a festival that celebrates the city’s secret spaces, is nearly upon us. The aim is to help people engage with architecture by letting them see behind the scenes in the area’s most notable buildings. Venues taking part include: Chetham’s School of Music, the RNCM, HOME and the Whitworth (Sat 3 Oct, 11am, £2, www.seetickets.com) The architects of Two St Peter’s Square (opposite Central Library) will lead a tour of their new edifice before it’s even formally open. Also, people can get a rare daytime glimpse of The Warehouse Project, where they will be treated to a tour and a light show. The festival won’t all be indoors; there will also be guided walks, including a look at Urban Splash’s various properties (Fri 2 Oct, New Islington Guided Walk With Tom Bloxham, New Islington, 4pm, £2, www.seetickets.com) and a view of the modernist style that was embraced after the 1996 bomb.
