Another week, another restaurant is set to open in Ancoats to further strengthen the range of eateries on offer. The name ‘Elnecot’ hails from the original settlement that was reported to be in the area. After running a Melbourne restaurant, local chef Michael Clay is interested in resurrecting old English recipes using locally-sourced, seasonal produce, as well as pickling, making homemade jams and chutneys, and making sure the bar represents breweries and distilleries of the North West.
Opening mid-Aug, Elnecot, 39 Blossom Street, Ancoats, Manchester, M4 6AJ. www.elnecot.com
