Coming in February to HOME is Rock Art, a new solo exhibition from John Hyatt, an artist, musician, and ‘Punk Professor’. Hyatt first hit the scene in the early 1980s, as the vocalist and lyricist of the cult indie band The Three Johns. He later became a Professor at the Liverpool School of Art and Design. With this new exhibition, he brings together works focussing on a wide array of topics, including post-death, magic, and metamorphosis. The centrepiece of the event is Club BIG, a pop-up music club and debating chamber. It will also have a live art space which will host an alternative art history, and regular free events, including extra special events on Friday nights. As Master of Ceremonies for the club, Hyatt will present live music and performance. Other elements of the exhibition include a collection of sculptures that are not quite what they seem, a collaborative album, and a library with reading room.
