Cult noodle restaurant Shoryu Ramen opens in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens on Wednesday 30 November. Serving southern Japanese Hakata cuisine, this is the small London group’s first opening outside the capital and house special is tonkotsu ramen. This fabulous hangover cure is a soupy-noodle creation, made from rich, slow cooked pork broth, ramen noodles and soft-boiled eggs which are marinated overnight in soy, ginger and garlic among other things. Other treats in store include fluffy, steamed Shoryu Buns, handmade on site with fillings such as BBQ pork as well as sizzling Hakatan-style pork gyoza, tempura and sashimi. To drink, there’s a huge range of sake and cocktails such as the Yuzu Mojito. We like the sound of Musashino Craft Beer from the Japanese beer menu.
