Michael Clark has been a celebrated name in the world of dance and choreography since his prodigal days at London’s Royal Ballet School in the 1980s. Clark returns with his dance company for one night with a new work inspired by his 1970s idols: David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed. The evening promises to feature his usual meld of technical prowess and experimental edge. Intersecting elements of punk, Dada, pop and rock, Clark’s productions never fail to challenge orthodoxy, provoke audiences and deliver electrifying performances. Having been awarded an honour by the Queen for ‘services to dance’ in 2014 and having featured as the opening act of the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2015 alongside his company, the evening represents an opportunity to enjoy one of the most celebrated, innovative and unique dance-choreographers of our time.
