At the end of this month, you’ll find the city’s shopping streets will be transformed into show gardens for this year’s Dig the City. This weeklong gardening festival will include dozens of attractions including talks, demonstrations, fêtes and music. Be sure to visit the Moss Cider Project, a pop-up orchard which will be selling apple juice and cider made especially for the festival. Salford’s own Incredible Edible will present a garden that educates people in how to grow their own food, even if they have limited space. There also will be Dig for Fashion, a series of guerrilla fashion shows across several locations. Models will be sporting floral umbrellas and wellies, as this is a Mancunian summer after all. If horticulture isn’t your thing then head to the event’s hub at St. Ann’s Square, which will be host to food vendors, a bar and an alfresco café.
