Having already established themselves as bona fide bar owners with Wilbraham Road staple Electrik in Chorlton, Unabombers Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford are taking the next logical step and opening new digs in West Didsbury. As ‘club alchemists’, the Unabombers have toured the world (including hosting their annual festival Electric Elephant in Croatia) and taken in their fair share of booze and food along the way, and it is this world view that has inspired their latest venture. Sharing plates and grills are the order of the day with meticulously sourced ingredients being central to an informal but high quality food offer, with a down-to-earth, family-style dining experience inspired by the European ‘no fuss’ approach to great eating and drinking. A welcoming home away from home from those Burton Road frequenters, Volta invites punters for drinks as well as food, with a wide selection of libations (hopefully they’ll find room for their award-winning Electrik beers too).
