Though the largely empty properties at the base of Piccadilly Place aren’t what the developers would’ve wanted when they drew up the plans for the project, these yet-to-be-properly-used commercial spaces have turned into a thriving art scene of their very own over the past couple of years. The nine artists involved in The VERB Project are the latest to add their names to the list of creatives thriving in a destination originally built for financial gain. This particular work, running over four days, is based around each artist’s own engagement with the space itself – and the works will spring out in the two-week period they have within it before the opening night on Thursday 4 July, spread over the mediums of installations, live performance, sound and time-based art.
