Entries are now being accepted for Tour of Manc, an 80-mile cycle challenge taking place on Sun 21 September. This gruelling race has a difficulty rating of 5/5 – so is only for physically fit, experienced cyclists. Participants must willing and able to handle the distance, the terrain, and possibly (probably?) some bad weather. The circuit will begin in the city centre and make its way around Greater Manchester, including a long stretch up in the hills around Saddleworth, Rochdale, and Bolton. The approximate route can be found here, with the exact course confirmed nearer to the date. Tour of Manc is organised by Forever Manchester, a charity which supports grassroots community projects. Of the £45 entry fee, at least £20 will go to the charity.
