It seems the summer festival season isn’t quite over yet, as Albert Square is soon to be taken over by Festejar, one of the UK’s biggest celebrations of Spanish culture. The four-day event, which takes place at the beginning of September, will showcase the food, drink, music and dance of the Iberian Peninsula. The festival kicks off in style, with a performance by the flamenco guitarists The Andalus Band. On the Friday night, DJ Miguel Manzano will present a night of Balearic chill-out as he provides a soundtrack to the sunset. One of the event’s main attractions is the market, with its authentic crafts and artisan food stalls. The cuisine of the Spanish colonies will also be on sale, so expect burritos, tacos, and the hugely popular churros. The festival is sponsored by Marqués de Cáceres Rioja, so you can be sure that wine will be in good supply.
