Writer Lara Williams has a new book coming out, and to celebrate she is hosting a free launch party at the Whitworth. Williams will be giving readings from her new short story collection, called Treats, which she likens to a break-up album. It features tales about relationships and the dilemmas of life in the digital age. The night will also feature special guests who will be performing and giving readings including poet Lauren Bolger and music journalist, Matthew Britton. Also on the bill is the hand behind real-life based literature night, The Real Story, Kate Feld. There will be a DJ set from the Suffradecks, who will be spinning slow jams, college rock, and 90s girl bands. The evening is part of the Whitworth’s regular, free Thursday Late series, which are cultural events to enjoy after work.
