Snap up free tickets for Skiddle’s 16th birthday party with live music, DJs, freebies and a whole lot more. Skiddle is 16! takes over three floors at Sound Control in Manchester and the event experts (hailing from Preston) have chosen their favourite acts for their anniversary bash, which marks their rise from just two ravers with a dream to one of the best-known ticketing services in the UK. Although tickets are free (on a first-come first-served basis) you can guarantee entry with a £10 charity ticket in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Sounds good to us. Here’s our guide to the biggest 16th birthday bash in town:-

Live music room
Earlier this year, Marple math-poppers Dutch Uncles wowed audiences at the BBC 6 Music Festival. For Skiddle’s live music floor, they join hip-hop supergroup The Mouse Outfit and lo-fi Liverpool trio Stealing Sheep plus DJ Gareth Brooks. 

Dance music room
German tech house label Avotre will take charge of the dancefloor, with DJs Sidney Charles and one-time Warehouse project resident Alexis Raphael on the decks. Expect a third, very special guest to be announced soon.

Festivals room
Mixing things up with a festival vibe are Raf Daddy, who’s best known as The 2 Bears with Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, deep house maestros X-Press 2, DJ Sonny Wharton, and with bandstand cover versions of classic dance tracks like Livin Joy’s ‘Dreamer’, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners.
