Wondering what that sparkling, glass-clad building is all about, up near the ‘Phones4U’ Arena? Well, you can get behind the scenes of the Cooperative Group’s impressive HQ at the launch of a new book at the end of this month. Written by local writer and photographer, Len Grant, the book, published by the Manchester University Press, follows the construction and development of 1 Angel Square. Resembling a glass ferry, or a futuristic green house, it manages to combine visual allure with function, as one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the world. At this event, Grant will be in conversation with 1 Angel Square’s architect, Mike Hitchmough of 3DReid.
