Wrapping Exchange at Sadler’s Yard
If you’ve already got some Christmas gifts, but you’re struggling to get them wrapped up, then get yourself down to Sadler’s Yard this Saturday, where they’re running a free gift-wrapping service with artisan paper available from local paper merchant GF Smith. In addition to the wrapping, there’s also a number of workshops: From boat making, to candle dipping to bookbinding. It’s a perfect crafty afternoon no matter where you are in your Christmas shopping cycle.

GRUB Christmas Fair at Alphabet Brewing Co (pictured)
Regular food fair GRUB is having their Christmas do this weekend, all housed in the arches of the Alphabet Brewing Co. As well as the usual street food stalls from the likes Mac Daddies, Purely Pizza and Holy Crab, they’re also putting on a range of themed festive treats: From mulled wine to stollen cake to Christmas cocktails. Additionally, you can pick up a range of artisan Christmas gifts and enjoy a performance from the Northern Quarter Boys Choir. You can even pick up a Christmas tree.

Joan Bradley and Evoke Exhibition Previews at Didsbury Parsonage Trust
The Didsbury Parsonage Trust is a well-kept secret, tucked away in Fletcher Moss Park, just off the main village strip, but they host regular exhibitions of local and undiscovered artists alongside their permanent collection of Turner classics. Their launching two new exhibitions this weekend, with preview on Sunday afternoon. The first is a retrospective of the work of artist Joan Bradley, who paints highly-textured abstracted landscapes. The second, Evoke, is a group show featuring work from four different artists: Photographer John Eastwood, ceramicist Ché Finch, pastels from Sandra Orme and mixed media work from Louise Jannetta. Both exhibitions run until Saturday 17 December.
