Tea Hive Nocturne
Chorlton’s Tea Hive opens up this Friday evening for the first Tea Hive Nocturne, which is an evening of jazz-era music and cocktails to match. Of particular note are their special tea-infused gin cocktails: A sharp, sweet reminder that you’re getting drunk in a tea shop – hangover cause and cure in the same tumbler. The seven-piece Dani Sicari & The Easy Rollers (pictured) will be providing the soundtrack, so make sure you get down early to stake out a seat.
Fri 12 Aug, Tea Hive, 53 Manchester Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, M21 9PW. 7.30pm – 11pm, www.facebook.com

Outside Then Upstairs at Soup Kitchen
Soup Kitchen in the Northern Quarter are running this interesting concept on Sunday afternoon, as they set up the decks outside for some al fresco beats. At least, until it starts raining and they have to move the party indoors to the venue’s ground-floor bar. With sets by Lanark Artefax, Michael Holland and Cong Burn Waves, it promises to be a more chilled out counterpoint to some of the other parties running this weekend.
