Visit the Lowry for a showcase of digital art, a one-to-one trapeze show and more this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday (27 & 28 May) The Lowry celebrates the world premiere of IRIS as The Lyric Theatre is consumed by a sumptuous feast of light, sound, colour and technology from leading artists (and U2 stage show collaborators) Marshmallow Laser Feast. IRIS is a unique digital art installation, created using the latest in robotic and laser technology with showings taking place at various times over the summer. However this weekend marks the premiere of the installation and visitors can just turn up anytime from 11am and 4pm on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May to see it before anyone else. Entry is free and staged at 15 minute intervals. Alongside IRIS, The Lowry’s Pier Eight bar and restaurant is being taken over by sold-out pop-up event Tim Peaks Diner. The brainchild of The Charlatan’s Tim Burgess, this cult spoken word and music festival is sold out – click here for more. Finally, there’s Ellie Dubois’ Ringside – a one to one intimate trapeze show. Click here for our full story.
