The final line of Tony Walsh’s now famous poem inspired this crew of Manchester selectors to mobilise and celebrate Manchester’s music scene, spread love and pay respects to those affected by the recent terror attack. Gorilla hosts a plethora of DJs, with a suggested donation of £5 on the door. Raffle tickets will be on sale, and if you can’t make it you can still donate at justgiving.com – raffle prizes include a meal and wine at Gorilla, tickets for DJ Shadow, Mr Scruff and Horse Meat Disco, a stack of vinyl donated by the DJs, signed goodies, day passes to Fusion Festival and lots more. DJs include Bobby James (Reform Radio), Bane (Eastern Bloc), Stu Richards (Luv Dancin’), Gareth Brooks (ex-XFM), Simon Ham (You Dig?), Jonny Shire (Band On The Wall), Dan Wainwright (Crazy Pedro’s), Ian Williams (Funkademia), Tom Swallow (Grown Folks Music), Charlie Fleig (Doodle) and Andy Shake’n’Fingerpop (Peek-A-Groove). All money raised will go to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
