Levy Market has been greener than ever in 2015, thanks to its sustainable initiatives in collaboration with Incredible Edible Levenshulme. Coffee Cranks Co-op, The Buttery and Parched Tea Bar have all taken part in the market’s Reduce Reuse Recycle plan, which aims to reduce the astonishing amount of plastic sent to landfill every year. Their recycled mugs given out for a small returnable deposit ensure the traders, people and community of Levy are all continuing to do their bit for the environment. These hot drinks give you an even warmer feeling inside! Gone are the bare walls and ugly signs of industry, here to stay are the creative minds of Incredible Edible, who’ve installed ‘cycle lock planters’, promoting parking for sustainable transport while looking pretty all summer, and a planting wall crammed full of herbs and small edible plants. You can see the positive effects of the support offered by Manchester City Council’s Clean and Green Cities fund by visiting Levy Market to see for yourself.
