Over three full days in October (and one evening), Old Granada Studios will be bustling with activity for the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair 2015 – and with the Manchester Tourism Awards accolade for the Best Small Event of the Year 2014 sitting on their mantelpiece, there’s no chance they’ll be resting on their laurels. The former TV studios will be feature more than 175 of the UK’s skilled designer-makers, some displaying their beautiful work while others engage with visitors directly to demonstrate the making process in the pop-up studio space. An exciting addition to the usual format includes new work commissioned by the organisers, who’ve invited ceramicist Stephen David Graham and mixed media artist Harriet Lawton to be their first Installation Artist and Artist in Residence respectively. Whether a seasoned collector or curious admirer, there’ll be plenty to see and do – and watch this space for our top picks coming soon.

Thu 8 (evening preview only) then Fri 9 – Sun 11 Oct, Old Granada Studios, Quay Street, Manchester, M60 9EA, £6 adv (£5 conc), www.eventbrite.co.uk
