Last summer stand-up aficionados Group Therapy took over basement dive bar Tiger Lounge for a series of Edinburgh previews from some of their favourite acts, and managed to turn it into an erstwhile comedy club that has since become one of the best venues for laughs in the city. This time they have bigger ideas, bigger names, and a bigger venue as they welcome a host of top acts to try out their new hour-long shows. So if you want to get the jump on the Fringe this year, or simply won’t get the chance to head North of Hadrian’s Wall, get yourself to the Deaf Institute on Thursdays for the next two months. Two comedians for a fiver is a stupidly good deal, and the season ticket offer of all eight shows for just £30 (that’s a saving of a tenner maths fans!) is bordering on the ridiculous. Cheaper than a megabus to Edinburgh!
