Continuing Blackwell’s programming of interesting and noteworthy events, Mark Z Danielwski (pictured) is coming to the International Anthony Burgess Foundation to talk about his latest novel, The Fifty Year Sword. Best known for House of Leaves, which has gained a distinct cult following since its publication, this debut will surely be a major topic of conversation – but it will be his fifth book that should be central to the evening. He’s upped his use of colour to ‘five’ this time round, although it may be difficult to spot that in his reading – so you’ll have to pick up a book to notice. You’ll also have the chance to get the ‘Z’ mark, as he’ll be signing at the end. Joined by Dundee International Book Prize winner, Nicola White, and hosted by Manchester’s hardest working literature organiser, Fat Roland, this is a chance to catch a truly interesting writer at one of Manchester’s finest writing hubs.
