Lightwaves Festival 2015 is coming to Salford Quays and every evening for the duration of the festival, the area’s public spaces will be illuminated by major installations from international artists. Mads Christensen’s Cathedral of Mirrors (pictured) is made up of 12 columns which will pulse with light in response to the movements of passers by. Also coming to the UK for the first time is Amaze by Marcos Zotes, a labyrinth with many walls adorned by psychedelic projections. Amanda Parer’s playful Intrude consists of giant, luminous rabbits down by area’s waterfront and there’s much more to explore too. Highlights of the schedule include specially-commissioned performance by Company Chameleon and there’s a free talk by some of the artists involved at the Lowry (Sat 12 Dec, 4pm, FREE, click here for our preview and to book).
