Manchester’s suburban live literature night, Verbose, is back for its first outing of 2017 at its regular haunt, Fallow Café in Fallowfield. The night billed as ‘words from the ‘burbs’ will be celebrating its second anniversary since the relaunch by flash fiction writer Sarah-Clare Conlon and, as usual, welcome three special guest headliners alongside its ever popular open-mic. January will feature a short story showcase from The International Flash Fiction Association (IFFA) with performances from directors and managing editors, Peter Blair and Ashley Chantler, alongside one of the IFFA’s authors, David Swann, who has six successes at the Bridport Prize amongst his many honours. Alongside these three, will be nine up and coming local poets and writers. In just two years Verbose has seen some of the hottest names take the trip to South Manchester for an always packed event promoting new and established writers. As a firmly established fixture in Manchester’s ever popular live literature scene, this is set to continue way past their third year.
