Liverpool Psych Fest, a celebration of the subculture of psychedelia, returns later this month. The weekend-long event isn’t a throwback to the flower waving of the late 1960s, but instead is a festival for the modern-day artists who whose work is psychoactively inspired. Musicians performing will include September Girls, White Hills, The Besnard Lakes, and a host of other bands and DJs. The Northern Quarter’s own Piccadilly records will be present with a pop-up record shop with all the best psych releases. However, it is not only music being explored, but also visual art, film, and live performances. Also, on Saturday, writers and travellers will discuss the different psychedelic scenes around the world. The festival takes place at the Camp & Furnace, a former industrial complex turned cultural hangout, located in Liverpool’s bohemian ‘Baltic Triangle’.
