Bicycles and booze offers up far more than just alliteration if Manchester’s Beer & Cider Festival is anything to go by. Set at the iconic National Cycling Centre, and taking place from Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 January 2015, the four-day bender will feature more than 350 cask-conditioned ales, alongside traditional ciders and perries, with plenty of international stock also on offer. With demand last year literally drinking the bar dry, it’s guaranteed that this Camra-endorsed event will not follow the same fate, with a total of 16 bars offering a selection of draft and bottled beers -from beer powerhouses including Germany, Belgium and the USA – and craft favourites set among the elite in brewed goods. With food also available for those moments in between sips, and over 16,000 pints ordered for this year’s event, be assured there is something for both the novice and the Olympian drinker… and of course those in between.
