The Drum Music collective reunite in their old home to celebrate 11 years in, with special guest Papa Shanti bringing tribal roots, afro-bashment and a variety of other bass music. Expect ragga jungle, drum and bass, hip hop, reggae and live West African drumming from the Tanante crew.

Sat 17 Sep – Ono Oyes @ The White Hotel
A left of field all dayer at this Salford venue celebrating underground label Ono. Big Peace, of art collective Generic Greeting, premieres sounds from his debut album, many of which were produced with Szajna, also DJing on the day. Reform Radio’s Originally A Dancer bring ethereal vibes and Watch Repair celebrate their latest and final album on Ono. You’re encouraged to bring shareable food and nice vibes.

Sat 17 Sep – Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club ft The Invisible Orchestra live @ Band On The Wall
I have no idea as to the logistics of this, but the Invisible Orchestra is a 24-piece funk, soul and big band crew playing Afro funk, Arabic punk, Latin styles and more. Bringing under-exposed bands like this to Manchester is one of the reasons Craig’s night sells out every time, so get on tickets early.

One for the salseros! All salsa styles catered for plus a little cha cha cha, mambo, son Cubano, timba and bachata from 7 ‘til midnight. Selections from two of Manchester’s finest salsa selectors, Jane Salsadi and Gillian Salsafix.
