The frankly legendary Russ heads up this Wet Play special. From playing alongside Mike Pickering at the Hacienda to running one of the north west’s key house nights, Out In The Sticks, Russ pulls nothing but jewels from his 15k-strong record collection. Make sure you pop along as he makes a rare step out from behind the Vinyl Exchange counter.

Sat 29 Apr: Band On The Wall Funk & Soul Party with Federation Of The Disco Pimp
Jonny Shire and I bookend this one, a sequel of sorts to our New Year’s Eve shenanigans. It’s a strong live funk line-up: Federation Of The Disco Pimp are a 7-piece monster who do what it says on the tin. The Allergies, aka Rackabeat and DJ Moneyshot, deliver breaks-fuelled fun times, and Family Ranks provide hip hop soul with an electronic slant.

Fe Vargas flies over from Cuba to spin a Latin-infused house set for this extended session. Support comes from Matt Ward (Piccadilly Records / Wet Play), Yadava (So Flute), Swindells (Tropical Hustle) and me playing salsa, Latin soul and much more from 3pm.
