Manchester dessert heavyweights Bakeorama, Ginger’s Comfort Emporium and lushbrownies are teaming up to bring you their ‘COOKIE PARTY’ (see pic). Hosted at new dessert bar, MilkJam, the menu consists of a four-course dessert menu of cookie-based dishes. After a welcome drink, you’re able to bring your own booze to their sweet feast. Booking is advisable as tickets are limited.

Pop up Chorlton bar: Wilbraham Bierhaus
Bringing Christmas cheer to the people of Chorlton, Wilbraham Bierhaus launches this Friday. Running from 9-31 December, they’ll be serving steins, gluhwein, boozy hot chocolate and coffee liqueurs to raise festive levels and banish the cold. They’ll also have Christmas songs and acoustic performances during their run, opening hours are below.

Christmas line ups at Saturday’s GRUB Food Fair at Alphabet Brewing Company
The bar will be offering the usual range of excellent beers served from the source, plus there will be mulled wine and cider, Steep Soda mince pie cocktails, liquor-doused Feuerzangenbowle and stollen flavoured Flat White breakfast stout. There is a Christmas gift stall for prezzie buying and the Northern Quarter Boys Choir will be on hand to belt out the Christmas carols. Food options include panzerotti from Fritto Italian Street Food, Kati rolls from Vaso Kitchen, Greek souvlaki from The Authentic, hot dogs and homemade pickles from Fat Annie’s and baked goods from Pollen Bakery, including their now famous cruffin. DJs will be a-playing when the choir aren’t a-singing. Cards accepted at the bar, cash required for the stalls.

Book now: Irish Sunday brunch with music at Chorlton Irish Club
Chorlton institution The Irish Club is holding a brunch event this weekend, with ‘soul food and food for the soul’ from Aunty Millie’s Kitchen. It will be accompanied by live music from saxophonist Alastair Grant and vocal performances from Stephen Goodwin and duo Ebony Feare and Brenda Mogoi. Doors open at noon, food will be served from 12.45pm.
